There's a type of road marking, renowned for its exceptional adhesion, superior wear resistance, and extended reflectivity, earning it the title of "Indestructible Line" in the road marking world.
There's another type, scattered like stars during the day, gleaming like light strips at night, and floating on water's surface in the rain, hailed as the "Easy-to-Discern" in the road marking world.
And then there's a type of marking that produces no emissions during construction, experiences no wear during use, doesn't obstruct water flow, and boasts exceptional durability, earning it the title of "Unbeatable Cost-Effectiveness" in the road marking world.
It has garnered countless fans and become a true "top performer" in the road marking industry due to its consistently environmentally friendly nature, its reflectivity in rainy and nighttime conditions, its drainage and road protection features, its long-lasting durability, and its ability to beautify road surfaces.
This is the high-performance two-component road marking paint that TATU Highway Group has been vigorously promoting in recent years!
Today, we visited the construction site of the Zhongzhou Avenue two-component extruded checkerboard and dotted line markings project, a key road upgrade project undertaken by TATU Highway Group in Zhengzhou, to uncover the "ultimate secret" behind the popularity of TATU Highway Group two-component road markings.
TATU Highway Group Two-Component Extruded Checkerboard Line Markings
The road edge design for this Zhongzhou Avenue upgrade project features the two-component extruded checkerboard line markings, often referred to as the "crown jewel" of road markings.

At the construction site, we witnessed the "Virdo" two-component road marking vehicle start up, and rows of neatly arranged two-component extruded checkerboard-shaped road markings quietly spread across the road, like chess pieces neatly placed on the dark surface. On the spherical surface of each "chess piece," tiny glass beads refracted a soft glow under the sunlight. The construction workers told us that at night, when car headlights shine on these densely packed glass beads, the refracted light is even more dazzling; from a distance, they look like "fluorescent ribbons" placed on the road at night. Guided by these bright markings, drivers feel more comfortable and safer while driving.
Having long heard of Nantong Vierdo Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of TATU Highway Group, developing the Asia-Pacific's first two-component road marking vehicle, after seeing it in person, we are deeply impressed by the fact that this large-scale equipment, in terms of both construction speed and effect, is far superior to smaller construction equipment—truly extraordinary. At the scene, we wanted to film some close-up shots, but if we were even slightly slow, the cars marking the lane markings would leave us far behind.
The checkerboard-shaped lane markings have a special raised structure. This structure not only facilitates drainage, but also, in rainy weather, the raised dots reflect light from car headlights back to the driver, enhancing the road markings' reflectivity in rainy nights. Furthermore, when a tire drives over the markings, the raised "checkerboard" structure creates a gentle vibration, promptly alerting the driver to driving safely.
TATU Highway Group Two-Component Splash-Paint Structural Road Markings
On-site, we observed two splash-paint two-component road marking vehicles and four self-propelled two-component multi-functional road marking machines simultaneously applying splash-paint star-dot road markings. The regular long lines were quickly completed by the large road marking vehicles, while zebra crossings, stop lines, lane dividers, and intersection guide lines were primarily applied by the multi-functional road marking machines.

At the construction site, we observed that the spray-painted road markings utilize a spiked spray-painting structure to apply the two-component marking paint into irregular, isolated dots, which, upon landing, form a unique, irregular array of star-shaped dots. The glass microbeads scattered on these dots provide omnidirectional light refraction at night. Simultaneously, the gaps between the dots also offer excellent drainage during rainy weather.
Therefore, both the star-dot painted road markings and the extruded checkerboard road markings are hailed by the industry as "true rain-night road markings." This implies that their reflective visibility in rainy nights is far superior to the so-called high-brightness hot-melt road markings, which rely solely on excessive scattering of glass beads during construction and subsequent "replacement" of reflectivity by internally mixed glass beads.
Under a clear blue sky, with perfect sunshine and a gentle breeze, the large road marking vehicles and small road marking machines visible at a glance, along with the occasional laughter of the construction workers, all set against the backdrop of the shimmering white road markings and glass beads, present a beautiful picture of road marking workers protecting pedestrians in their unique way.
