Characteristics and Applications of Road Marking Paint
2022-03-09

The main function of road markings is to separate vehicles into lanes. According to the road markings painted on highways, different types and speeds of vehicles are correctly guided to drive along the designated routes and abide by traffic regulations, thereby improving the efficiency of highway freight transport and reducing road traffic accidents. At the same time, it also warns drivers that they can anticipate relevant road conditions in advance based on the road markings.

Characteristics of Road Marking Paint:

1. Rapid Drying: Road marking paint hardens rapidly with temperature changes. In cold weather, it hardens quickly, while in warm weather, it hardens slowly. Slow drying not only causes the glass beads to settle into the paint, reducing reflectivity, but also slows down traffic flow and reduces road capacity.

2. Adhesion: Once applied, road marking paint is unlikely to fall off or crack due to its excellent adhesion to the ground. It is not affected by vehicle traffic, skidding, or braking, nor does it change with seasonal temperature variations. However, adhesion is not as good on concrete surfaces; a pre-coating agent is needed to improve the bond between the paint and the surface.

3. Visibility: Road marking paint is inherently highly visible, both day and night. The effectiveness of reflectivity depends directly on the quality of the glass marbles laid out; too many or too few marbles will negatively impact the reflectivity.

IV. Aging Resistance: Suitable for both northern and southern climates, the material formulation can be adjusted according to different seasons and climatic conditions, allowing for reliable operation in various seasons.

V. Application Scope: Suitable for lane dividers, edge lines, and grid lines; sidewalks, intersections, underground parking lots, and roads without streetlights at night.
